Dennis Nolan, is a lawyer with extensive experience in Government, former Corporate Legal Advisor for the NSW Department of Housing; former Member of the Commonwealth Migration and Refugee and Social Security Appeals Tribunals; expertise in Building & Construction (Contracts and Superintendent Engineers determinations) and Banking & Finance (Overseas loans, Leveraged leasing, currency & Interest rate swaps negotiating, drafting and settling complex agreements); currently a Mediator (Common Law Damages claims) for NSW Workers Compensation Commission.
He was formerly an Arbitrator of the NSW Workers Compensation Commission; a former Member of the NSW Residential Tenancies and Residential Tribunals; and their successors the Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT) and NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal (NCAT). He has experience and expertise over 20 years conciliating and mediating disputes in NSW residential tenancies, Strata Titles laws and practice, consumer protection, retirement villages, residential parks and administrative law.
He also has over 20 years’ experience in designing and delivering TAFE and government Tribunal training and assessment, together with lecturing/tutoring in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Degree) for University of Ballarat, and in Real Estate legal subjects at HMAS Nirimba Campus, for Western Sydney University.
Dennis is also the principal of a private legal practice and a nationally accredited mediator (Australian Dispute Resolution Association (ADRA)) with Masters’ degrees in Dispute Resolution and Law as well as undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Law. He is experienced in all legal issues including conveyancing and general litigation in the Local, District and Supreme Courts of NSW.
