Capacity, decision making and advocacy: When do people need substitute decision makers?

Presented by Dr Meg Smith OAM Ph.D FAPS

Everyone. at some stage in life is going to need a substitute decision maker. For most of us, this might be as minor as giving a friend a general power of attorney to manage the household bills while being away on a remote holiday or ensuring there is someone to give consent to medical treatment or to be contacted in an emergency.

Cases of parents/children who suicide through Family Law difficulties. Can they be prevented?

David Rollinson seminar at ADRA

MEDIATING STRATA DISPUTES

More high rise apartments and town house complexes means more people closer together, and that's a recipe for conflict. Mediation has a role here, but is the process and the outcomes of any real value to those concerned.

David Rollinson trained and began mediating in 1983 with Community Justice Centres. His mediation and facilitation experience includes couple and family, neighbour and community, planning and development and strata living disputes. David has been a conciliator of health complaints and was the 'mediating registrar' at the NSW Land and Environment Court in the late 1990s.
